Ohio Credit Counseling Hotline

A hotline has been set up for Ohio residents that need to speak with a credit counselor immediately. The hotline is staffed by trained counselors that are both Accredited Credit Counselors and Accredited Financial Counselors. This should expedite the process for Ohio residents that are seeking debt relief, especially considering the long delays at some agencies in responding to requests for help.

We understood that some residents were waiting up to three weeks to get the help they need. For some debtors, this could mean another round of late payments hitting their credit reports as well as additional late fees on their credit card accounts.

There are two primary reasons for the delays. First, unemployment numbers have risen rapidly due to the severe recession that has gripped much of Ohio and the rest of the nation. Second, many homeowners are flooding credit counseling agencies seeking to avoid foreclosure.

The hotline is 1-866-832-2826 and is staffed weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You can speak directly with an experienced credit counselor that is ready to help you evaluate your budget and determine what options you have to eliminate your credit card debt.

If you have your credit card statements on hand, they can even put together a plan to help you gain control of your debt. You might be eligible to enroll in a debt management program, which could lower your interest rates and reduce your monthly payments.

Most clients that call the hotline are able to receive a tailored solutino to fit their needs in about an hour. Imagine feeling the relief of knowing how you are going to improve your financial situation as well as knowing that you are no longer trying to do it alone.
