IRS Stimulus Payment Schedule

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that stimulus payments will be mailed based on the last two digits of your social security number. They have released this schedule so that you may anticipate your stimulus payment.

Anyone that fails to file a tax return by April 15 will not receive their payments on time. Also, if you did not provide direct deposit information on your tax return, your payment will be mailed later.

Direct Deposit Stimulus Payments

If your social security number ends in 00-20, then your stimulus payment will be deposited in your bank account by May 2. For a SSN ending in 21-75, your direct deposit will be received by May 9. All others (76-99) will be deposited by May 16.

Paper Check Stimulus Payments

If you filed your income tax return by April 15, but did not provide direct deposit information, your stimulus payment will be sent by paper check. It will be delayed slightly according to this schedule.

For social security numbers ending in:

  • 00-09, your check will be mailed by May 16
  • 10-18, by May 23
  • 19-25, by May 30
  • 26-38, by June 6
  • 39-51, by June 13
  • 52-63, by June 20
  • 64-75, by June 27
  • 76-87, by July 4
  • 88-99, by July 11

Exceptions

Some taxpayers may experience additional delays if the IRS needs additional time to review the return. Again, anyone that does not file a return will not receive a stimulus payment. Form 1040A–Fillable Form can be filed to get on the list to receive a stimulus payment.

Taxpayers that owe back taxes, student loans or child support could see their payments redirected toward these debts. If the IRS applies the stimulus payment toward other debts, you will receive a letter explaining the offset.
