Credit Solutions Telephone Numbers have been Disconnected

(Question submitted online) I signed up with Credit Solutions a few years ago to settle 2 accounts. I paid off one account and haven’t received anything to say it has been fulfilled.  I have been trying to contact Credit Solutions for months with no luck. All of their numbers have been disconnected and the new # on their website doesn’t work. I called the firm where my debt was to confirm I have paid in full and they said they couldn’t give me any information because I signed a Power of Attorney with Credit Solutions. I am trying to settle my 2nd account and I am running into the same problem with this firm and they won’t give me any information because of the POA. I just want to take care of my debt and rebuild my credit. What do I do now?

Unfortunately, Credit Solutions has succumbed to the same failure as most other major debt settlement companies. By making outrageous claims that they could not fulfill, the company is now imploding.

Credit Solutions has long been the target of regulatory actions by those agencies entrusted with protecting the public from financial scams. Due to the slow wheels of justice, those actions are too late to protect you.

The telephone numbers have been disconnected and the workers have been dismissed. Even the primary number listed with the Better Business Bureau has been disconnected, which brings me to my next point.

Had the roughly 230,000 customers of Credit Solutions checked the reliability report with the Better Business Bureau, they would have found that there has been a pattern of complaints. Only those who checked after 2009 would have seen the series of regulatory actions taken by the firm by the attorneys general of several states.

Falling victim to unscrupulous firms is never an easy lesson, nor cheap. You are likely out of several thousands of dollars that were paid into the firm.

It is possible that the firm’s assets may be seized and held in receivership by a court appointed attorney. If this occurs, then you might receive a portion of what you paid in. Any refund would likely be partial in nature and could take at least 2-3 years.

I know that this is likely bad news to you, yet it is important that you understand what is occurring. It is our hope that by sharing your story, that you will help hundreds of other debtors avoid a similar fate.

Yep. I live in California and I paid them. I got 3 accounts settled but not for the amount I was told. At 1st they were pretty good but as time went on it was almost impossible to get in touch with them. Now it appears they have gone belly up and I am out whatever I paid them. I have made the decision to declare bankruptcy. Get rid of all the debt and have a clean slate. Wish I could get my money back from the scammer.
